01

Does this create a real Minecraft resource-pack ZIP?

Paint 16×16 Minecraft block and item textures, preview your changes, and export Java ZIP or Bedrock MCPACK starter packs with validated metadata and paths.

  1. Import several texture files, select a target edition, and organize the asset list before editing.
  2. Batch-map colors or rename files, then inspect the selected texture on a live block preview.
  3. Run target-aware preflight checks and export a Java ZIP or Bedrock MCPACK with unique metadata, block/item paths, and a pack icon.

02

Which Minecraft editions does the ZIP support?

Both are supported. Choose Java Edition for a ZIP with pack.mcmeta or Bedrock Edition for an MCPACK with manifest.json and Bedrock texture paths.

03

Why must the asset name use lowercase characters?

Minecraft resource locations use lowercase names with limited separators. The validator rejects names that would produce an invalid asset path.

04

Does this create a real Minecraft resource-pack ZIP?

Yes. The export generates a fully functional Minecraft resource pack (.zip for Java Edition with pack.mcmeta or .mcpack for Bedrock Edition with manifest.json) ready to drop into your resourcepacks folder.

No. Painting and ZIP creation happen in your browser, and the exported pack downloads directly to your device.

05

Will every custom filename appear in the game automatically?

No. Known vanilla filenames replace their matching textures. A new custom Java asset still needs a model reference, while a new Bedrock asset needs the relevant texture-registry definition.

06

Test the pack in the matching Minecraft edition

For Java, inspect the ZIP before installation: pack.mcmeta belongs at the root, not inside an extra enclosing folder. Match pack_format to the game version you actually run. A valid ZIP structure does not by itself prove every texture name exists in that version.

For Bedrock, import the MCPACK and enable it in a test world. Check both the top face and side faces of the changed block. If the pack is listed but the texture stays unchanged, examine paths, vanilla filenames and pack priority before repainting the image.

Worked example

Replace one block texture, then test the exported pack

Start with grass_block_top so the filename maps to a real vanilla texture. Keep a separate export for each edition.

  1. Select grass_block_top in Assets, change a few pixels, and inspect the block in Preview. Use your own artwork and retain the vanilla filename for a replacement.
  2. In Publish, select Java or Bedrock and review the metadata. Set Java’s pack format for your exact game version, or Bedrock’s minimum engine version. Resolve preflight errors before exporting.
  3. Install the exported pack in the matching edition, enable it above other resource packs and inspect a grass block. If nothing changes, check the asset path, filename, pack order and game-version metadata.
Java ZIP
pack.mcmeta must be at the ZIP root. The replacement uses assets/minecraft/textures/block/grass_block_top.png. Put the ZIP in resourcepacks and enable it.
Bedrock MCPACK
The archive includes manifest.json and Bedrock texture paths. Open the .mcpack in Bedrock, then activate it in the world’s resource-pack settings. A Java ZIP is not a Bedrock pack.

Quick answer

Does this create a real Minecraft resource-pack ZIP?

Yes. The export generates a fully functional Minecraft resource pack (.zip for Java Edition with pack.mcmeta or .mcpack for Bedrock Edition with manifest.json) ready to drop into your resourcepacks folder.
